The story of Moët Champagne, crafted by the House of Moët & Chandon, dates back to 1743 when Claude Moët, a visionary wine merchant, established the house. With remarkable speed, Moët & Chandon became a reference in the highest European courts. Years later, Claude's grandson, Jean-Rémy Moët, propelled the house to international acclaim. Notably, it was Jean-Rémy who created the iconic cuvée of the house, Moët & Chandon Impérial, in homage to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. The Emperor, who visited the estate several times, allegedly invented the tradition of triumphantly uncorking a bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne to celebrate victory with his troops.
Since 1987, Moët & Chandon has been owned by the LVMH group. With meticulous selection of Champagne terroirs, the house produces unique cuvées renowned worldwide for their quality and irresistible charm. Additionally, since 1996, they have introduced Moët Rosé Champagne, the elegant Moët Rosé.
The Wine:
Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut is crafted from a meticulous selection of over 200 different parcels, representing the finest Champagne terroirs. It is dosed at 9 g/liter.
The Blend:
Moet Impérial is a blend of Pinot Noir (30 to 40%), Pinot Meunier (30 to 40%), and Chardonnay (20 to 30%). This blend is enriched with 20 to 30% reserve wines to enhance the intensity, richness, and consistency of this exceptional Champagne.
