Tasting Note:
The wine entices with a dark and brooding nose, offering black fruit aromas with hints of pepper and spice. The palate is full and layered, showcasing flavors of blueberry, blackberry, dark plums, and notes of dust, graphite, and cocoa nib. With fresh acidity, fine-grained tannins, and an elegant structure, it finishes with lingering black currant and milk chocolate.
 
Vineyard & Winemaking:
The 2020 harvest benefited from a cold winter, leading to ideal vine dormancy. Consistent bud-break and steady ripening occurred due to a moderate summer without extreme heatwaves. The wine is predominantly Syrah (73%) from our own vineyards, enhanced by Grenache (11%) for brightness and Swartland Cabernet Sauvignon (7%) for an old-world style. Aging took place in French oak, resulting in a balanced and textured wine with aging potential.
